Self-care

The essence of self-care is knowing yourself and what you need to maintain a balanced mind, body, and soul. Each of us requires something different.

The practice of self-care is a proactive way of creating balance in all aspects of life, contributing to the success of your future self. By identifying your needs, you begin to develop the tools you can utilize when life challenges arise.

Self-care asks you to:

  1. Be mindful, curious, and honest about what you are experiencing and feeling. Listen to what you need and know your limitations.

  2. Be compassionate with yourself when listening to and addressing your needs. You are part of humanity where we all experience grief, loss, and failure. You are not expected to be perfect, you will make mistakes. Be kind to yourself as you learn and journey forward.

  3. Protect your energy by establishing healthy boundaries with people, things, and activities that do not align with your authentic self.

“Self-care is how you take your power back.”
